Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart - Andante F-dur KV 616 für eine Walze in eine kleine Orgel

Automata of all types, including musical automata, had their moment of fame in the 18th century, in “art cabinets” that exhibited, inter alia, musical clocks equipped with a wind-up cylinder and a bellows mechanism. Clockmakers often invited celebrated composers to write pieces for such a clock. This led to the composition of little works by Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, Haydn, Mozart and many others. Mozart’s three works for the Flötenuhr K. 594, 608 and the Andante K. 616 are nothing less than pearls of this literature, which also includes the arrangement for piano presented here. Les automates en tous genres, et notamment les automates musicaux, étaient très en vogue au 18e siècle. Il existait ce que l’on appelait des cabinets de curiosités dans lesquels étaient pré-sentés ces automates, parmi lesquels aussi des horloges musicales – orgues mécaniques munis d’un cylindre à remontoir et d’un soufflet. Les horlogers sollicitaient souvent des composi-teurs célèbres pour qu’ils leur composent des morceaux destinés à ce genre d’orgues. C’est ainsi que virent le jour des petites œuvres de C. Ph. E. Bach, Haydn, Mozart et de nombreux autres compositeurs. Les trois compositions de Mozart pour horloge musicale, K. 594, K. 608 et l’Andante K. 616, sont des joyaux extraordinaires de cette littérature, y compris dans la version pour piano proposée ici. Automaten jeglicher Art, auch Musikautomaten, erfreuten sich im 18. Jahrhundert größter Beliebtheit. Es gab sogenannte Kunstkabinette, in denen solche Automaten aufgestellt waren, darunter auch Flötenuhren – Uhren, die mit einem aufziehbaren Walzwerk und einem Blase-balg ausgestattet waren. Die Uhrmacher baten oft berühmte Komponisten darum, Stücke für eine solche Uhr zu schreiben. Auf diese Weise entstanden kleine Werke von C. Ph. E. Bach, von Haydn, Mozart und vielen anderen. Mozarts drei Kompositionen für die Flötenuhr, KV 594, KV 608 und das Andante KV 616 sind ausgesprochene Perlen dieser Literatur, auch in der hier vorliegenden Übertragung für Klavier.
