To Veil or not to Veil
This study explores the issue of gender and immigration in the national contexts of Germany and France, where the largest minority populations are from Turkey and North Africa. Works by Özdamar, Senocak and Mokeddem and interviews with young Muslim women are considered in response to the demonization of the Islamic ‘other’ within Europe.
