Wie ist Deutschland, wie lang, wie groß und wie verschieden?Olaf Wegewitz (geb. 1949), Künstler, Naturphilosoph und Poet, machte sich im Sommer 2009 auf den Weg, um diesen Fragen nachzugehen. Entlang des 11. Längengrades führte ihn sein Weg über 1340 Kilometer von Fehmarn an der Ostsee bis zur Zugspitze. Körperlich und künstlerisch hat Olaf Wegewitz das Land samt seiner Flora und Fauna vermessen, um es anschließend in einem 100 Meter langen Bild festzuhalten. Das Buch zeigt den kompletten Ablauf des faszinierenden Gemäldes, das sich Küsten, Seen und Flüssen, Wiesen, Wäldern und Bergland, Äckern, Feldern und Dörfern entlang des Weges nähert. Mittels zarter, gestischer und expressiver, dramatischer und konzentrierter Pinselstriche entwirft.
