Gavin Millar is a member of Matrix Chambers. He specialises in defending journalists and media organisations in all types of media and criminal law cases. He has appeared in many leading cases on privacy, defamation and protection of sources and materials. He advised the Guardian in relation to its reporting of Edward Snowdens disclosures and represented the Telegraph Media Group at the Leveson Inquiry. He is an experienced Recorder of the Crown Court and the co-author of Media Law and Human Rights (2009 Oxford University Press).
