Herzlich Willkommen!
The Nazi Empire was the largest, most brutal and most ambitious reshaping ever undertaken in Europe's history. It was an attempt, under conditions of continuous war, to create a permanent, new racial order. This Empire rapidly collapsed in military failure, but its destruction cost millions of lives, and for many millions of others it was too late: they had already been killed by an ideology that embraced a future Europe 'cleansed' of 'alien elements'. This incredible trauma scars Europe to the present day and yet no book has been written which attempts to view the Nazi Empire as a whole and which takes seriously the chaotic, evolving ideas behind Nazi rule. HITLER'S EMPIRE is therefore both a very important book and an absolutely chilling one.
