Heinzi made it!
The “autobiographical” tragicomedy of a dog from animal welfare, with drawings by Sabine Werner Heinzi is a small golden-brown dog of mixed breed with long, wide, bat-like ears. Through this “autobiographical” tale, Heinzi tells us about the many hardships he had to face before finding his current home. The reader follows Heinzi from his first home, where he was tossed away like garbage, to his life as a street dog. From there Heinzi describes his time at a dog pound and within the animal welfare system, where he was finally adopted by a loving family. Heinzi’s path in life echoes that of the many other dogs that have been and continue to go through animal welfare. This story will not only touch human hearts, but contribute to helping save canine lives so that Heinzi, and the many other animals who suffer similar fates, will not be forgotten.
