Frank and Fearless
As I got out of the Bentley I heard a loud bang. At first I thought it was a car backfiring, but then I saw a man standing about 10 feet away from me, pointing a gun. Then there was another bang, and by now I thought it was a joke. The guy didn't say anything, but I could see that he was shaking like a leaf, obviously a bag of nerves. It all happened very quickly. There were two more bangs, and whereas the first couple of shots had missed me, the next one didn't. I felt a sudden, excruciating pain in my left side. My jacket sleeve was already sticky with blood, and there was a crimson stain rapidly spreading across the green tweed Armani waistcoat I was wearing. What can I say, it was the 1980s.
