Floating Drug delivery system-a novel approach
The concept of floating drug delivery system emerged from the desire to provide more convenient means of taking medication for the patient. floating tablets of the drug will be formulated in the present project which will specifically release the drug in upper part of GIT leading to efficient absorption of drug, which will lead to improved blood levels of the drug and can help in minimizing the dose size as well as dosing frequency with consequent curtailment to the associated side effects. In some cases such as motion sickness, sudden episodes of allergic attacks or coughing and unavailability of water, swallowing of conventional tablets may be difficult. The effective drug therapies are facing a challenge of finding a technology to administer measure and deliver the required quantity of drug into body.
