Energy: Resources, Derivative, Sustainability and Development
In the field of energy resources, it is estimated that maximum capacity for energy production given all available resources on Earth. In this concern, they can be divided by type into fossil fuel, nuclear fuel and renewable resources. An energy derivative is a derivative contract based on derived from an underlying energy asset, such as natural gas, crude oil, or electricity. Energy derivatives are exotic derivatives which include exchange-traded contracts such as futures and options, and over-the-counter such as privately negotiated, derivatives such as forwards, swaps and options. Finally, the major role in the energy derivative markets includes major trading houses, oil companies, utilities and financial institutions.
