Economics for southern Africa high school students prepares students for meticulation, advanced level, first year university/professional business courses examinations in economics in southern Africa. This book defines economics, traces the evolutional development of economics, identifies its divisions and distinguishes between positive and normative economics in simple terms. Economics is defined as a social science focusing on how human beings make choices regarding the alternative application of limited production factors. A distinction is made between macroeconomics and microeconomics. Each chapter and subsection ends with some exercises to ensure active learning.
Emmanuel Dumbu is Faculty of Commerce and Law Post Graduate Programme Coordinator at Zimbabwe Open University (ZOU) Masvingo Region.
