Austrian Arbitration Law in Motion
Austrian arbitration law reflects all major developments of modern international arbitration such as pre-arbitral mediation, the downgrading of the written form requirement for arbitration agreements, stringent controls on the independence and impartiality of arbitrators under uniform international standards, multiparty arbitration, internationally recognised approaches to taking evidence, expedited arbitrations, etc. This publication is intended to elucidate these modern developments and to show students as well as (non-Austrian and Austrian) practitioners the interplay between Austrian arbitration law and the most recent procedural rules of two leading arbitral institutions, the 2017 ICC Rules of Arbitration and the 2018 Vienna Rules.
